Description: ABC’s of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Tuesdays, October 3 & 10 6:00-8:00 p.m. Crawford County Administration Building 225 North Beaumont Road, Prairie du Chien The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW) and Mayo Clinic Health System are offering a two-part education series geared toward families of persons with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. It is a perfect starting point for gaining valuable insight by enhancing your understanding of the disease; learning how it affects your loved one; and how to effectively deal with it day-to-day. Dr. Thomas Loepfe, Mayo Clinic Health System/Franciscan Healthcare, will present Session I on the various types of dementia, including symptoms, diagnosis, disease progression, and treatment options. Becky DeBuhr, outreach specialist with the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will present Session II focusing on the experience of dementia and how it affects a person's function; how to best help the person maintain function and quality of life; and resources and support available to help.
