Album Cover
This year’s annual Madrigal Dinner was the 48th to be held by Boscobel's High School. The students and staff work to recreate a fairly typical Twelfth Night celebration in the “Merrie Olde Englande” of the late 16th century, during England’s golden age of cultural prosperity. Lords and Ladies would entertain themselves and their guests with song and are entertained by others while they pass the night dining leisurely. Many authentic traditions like the Boar’s Head Processional, the Wassail Bowl, and the Masquing remind us that this was a very different time and place. The madrigal dinner serves 170 plus guests and is a great way to start the holiday season. - All photos are by Phyllis Doan.
